When it comes to heavy haul transportation, every shipment presents a unique challenge, but this month’s featured move was one for the books. Our team successfully coordinated the transport of a 114,000-pound dredge ladder assembly from Poplarville, Mississippi to Buckeye, Arizona, ensuring it arrived safely, securely, and on schedule despite its extraordinary dimensions. Shipment Details Origin: Poplarville, MS Destination: Buckeye, AZ Dimensions: 62’5″ L × 13’1″ W × 9’1″ H Weight: 114,000 lbs Commodity: Dredge Ladder Assembly A dredge ladder assembly is one of the primary structural components of a dredging system, designed to support excavation equipment used in mining, waterway maintenance, and large-scale earthmoving operations. Transporting equipment of this size requires careful planning, specialized equipment, and experienced logistics professionals. At over 62 feet long, 13 feet wide, and weighing more than 57 tons, this shipment qualified as an oversized and overweight load, requiring meticulous route planning, permit coordination, and compliance with multiple state regulations. Heavy haul shipments aren’t simply loaded and dispatched. Before the first mile was traveled, our logistics team coordinated every detail to ensure the shipment moved efficiently from the Gulf Coast to the Arizona desert. The photo captures the ladder assembly being carefully positioned during the […]

We’re so excited to announce that after four years, Rick is rejoining the KCC team as a Carrier Sales Representative again! Many of you may remember Rick from his time with KCC from 2021 – 2022, and we’re thrilled to welcome him back as he begins this next chapter from his new home in beautiful Puerto Rico. When asked what drew him back to KCC, Rick didn’t hesitate. “I decided to work for KCC because I value the team-oriented environment and the opportunity to wear multiple hats. The logistics world is never boring, and I enjoy being able to consistently provide solutions, even in challenging situations. It pushes me to think outside the box, and I appreciate that the harder you work, the more you are rewarded.” His passion for logistics and problem-solving made the decision an easy one, and we’re excited to have that energy back on our team. For those who haven’t had the chance to meet Rick yet, he describes himself as an avid skateboarder and beach explorer. Living in Puerto Rico has given him the opportunity to combine both passions while enjoying island life. “In my free time, I enjoy island hopping and have been fortunate […]

At Kenneth Clark Company, we’re excited to welcome Martina, our newest addition to our Freight Team! Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Martina brings a strong background in customer service and sales to her new role. Prior to joining KCC, she worked in a CSR/Sales position where she developed a passion for building relationships and helping customers find solutions — skills that make her a perfect fit! Outside of work, Martina is incredibly creative. In fact, one fun fact about her is that she’s a “lowkey designer.” She enjoys creating clothing pieces in her spare time and loves drawing whenever she gets the chance. Her creativity and attention to detail shine both personally and professionally. Family is also a huge part of Martina’s life. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, whether that’s taking trips to the park or one of their favorite activities — feeding ducks together. When she’s not designing or spending time with family, you can usually find her hanging out with friends or her siblings. When asked why she chose Kenneth Clark Company, Martina shared that she was drawn to the career opportunities and growth potential she discovered while researching the company online. After her initial […]

This month, we’re spotlighting a heavyweight move that perfectly showcases the coordination, expertise, and attention to detail required in specialized shipping. Which is our specialty! The Load Our featured shipment was a Material Handler – LH80M-1218, an impressive piece of equipment built for serious industrial performance. Moving it was no small task: Weight: 149,694 lbs Dimensions: 49’ 10” L x 13’ 3” W x 14’ 5” H With dimensions and weight well beyond standard legal limits, this qualified as a fully over-dimensional (OD) shipment requiring detailed planning and execution. The Equipment To safely transport this oversized load, we utilized a 12-axle RGN Beam trailer. This configuration was essential to properly distribute the weight and maintain compliance with axle load regulations across state lines. The Route Origin: Maryland Destination: Virginia While this may seem like a short haul on paper, OD shipments add layers of complexity that turn even regional moves into highly strategic operations. Planning & Execution Because of its size and weight, this shipment required: State permits for both Maryland and Virginia Escort vehicles to ensure safe navigation along the route Route surveys to avoid low clearances, tight turns, and restricted roadways Timing coordination to comply with travel restrictions […]

With ConExpo just one week away, our team is already in full show mode — and this month’s featured shipment couldn’t be more fitting. We recently coordinated the transport of a 40’ x 12’ x 12’ concrete mixer weighing 36,000 lbs from Texas to Las Vegas, traveling more than 1,200 miles to make it to one of the largest construction trade shows in the world. On paper, it’s “just” an over-dimensional shipment. In reality, moves like this require precision planning, compliance management, and constant communication. And yes — we’ll be exhibiting at ConExpo, too! Oversize = Oversight With a width of 12 feet, this mixer exceeded standard legal limits, which meant: ✔ Securing proper oversize permits✔ Confirming approved travel routes✔ Coordinating timing restrictions✔ Ensuring compliance across state lines✔ Managing delivery scheduling to align with show setup windows Las Vegas during ConExpo setup week is no small operation. With thousands of exhibitors moving heavy machinery into the convention center and outdoor lots, timing is everything. Miss your delivery window, and you risk delays that can impact booth setup, staffing, and show readiness. Our team worked closely with the carrier and the customer to ensure smooth routing and on-time arrival — because […]
